The “Standard Ghost Boot Disk” does not allow you to access the network resources (i.e. GhostCast), but it does allow you to read and write from your CD-ROM and DVD drives as well as USB external drives.

Here’s how

Open the “Symantec Ghost Boot Wizard“.

Select “Standard Ghost Boot Disk” and click “Next“.

Leave the default options as is and click “Next“.
Note that even though you are not selecting the “USB Support” option on this screen, you’ll still be able to access your USB external devices. The “USB Support” option here is for “Peer-to-peer“.

Click “Next” on the next screen to “Use PC-DOS“.

On the next screen, you’ll need to specify where the file “ghost.exe” is located. This file is normally installed to a path as example below, but you should double check. Then click “Next“.

Click “Next” on the next screen to use default options for external storage devices.

Click “Next” on the next screen:

Click “Next” on the Review screen:

A message will display telling you that you will need two floppy disks. Click “OK“.

The Boot Disk Wizard will start to erase your floppy and create the boot data. Once it’s done with the first disk, it will prompt for a second one.

1. Definitions – Pull up the definition of the word by typing define followed by the word you want the definition for. For example, typing: define bravura would display the definition of that word.
2. Local search – Visit Google Local enter the area you want to search and the keyword of the place you want to find. For example, typing: restaurant at the above link would display local restaurants.
3. Phone number lookup – Enter a full phone number with area code to display the name and address associated with that phone number.
4. Find weather – Type weather followed by a zip code or city and state to display current weather conditions and forecasts for upcoming days.
5. Track airline flight – Enter the airline and flight number to display the status of an airline flight and it’s arrival time. For example, type: delta 123 to display this flight information if available.
6. Track packages – Enter a UPS, FedEx or USPS tracking number to get a direct link to track your packages.
7. Pages linked to you – See what other web pages are linking to your website or blog by typing link: followed by your URL. For example, typing link:http://www.computerhope.com displays all pages linking to Computer Hope.
8. Find PDF results only – Add filetype: to your search to display results that only match a certain file type. For example, if you wanted to display PDF results only type: “dell xps” filetype:pdf — this is a great way to find online manuals.
9. Calculator – Use the Google Search engine as a calculator by typing a math problem in the search. For example, typing: 100 + 200 would display results as 300.
10. Stocks – Quickly get to a stock quote price, chart, and related links by typing the stock symbol in Google. For example, typing: msft will display the stock information for Microsoft.

Ctrl + T and middle-click

Pressing Ctrl + T will open a blank new tab or if you want to open any link in a new tab press your middle mouse button (often the scroll wheel) to open that link in a new tab.

Ctrl + Shift + T

Oops, close a tab you didn’t want closed, simply press Ctrl + Shift + T to undo any tab close. Pressing this multiple times will undo multiple closes.

Quickly get to the URL address bar by pressing this function key.

Ctrl + F or /

Pressing Ctrl + F will open the find feature. Using this you can quickly find text within the same page. If you wish to do a quick find and have Firefox scroll to the text location as you type press forward slash (/) instead while in the browser.

Ctrl + W

Close the tab you’re currently in.

Ctrl + Tab or Ctrl + Shift + Tab

Move between open tabs.

Ctrl + D

Open bookmark window for page currently viewing.

Ctrl + <plus>, Ctrl + <minus>, and Ctrl + 0

Pressing Ctrl + <plus symbol> will increase the font size, pressing Ctrl + <minus symbol> will decrease the font size, and if you wish to reset the font size back to the default press Ctrl + 0.

Make the screen full screen, removing all toolbars and status bars.

Ctrl + J

Open the Download Manager window.

1. Open a new tab in Firefox.
2. In the address bar type: about:config
3. Locate browser.download.manager.showWhenStarting by copying and pasting the bold text into the Filter box.
4. Double-click the name or value to change the value from True to False. Once done close the tab.

If you’ve hidden your download Window it can still viewed by clicking Tools and then Downloads or pressing Ctrl + J.

Fix1:

• Confirm Username and Password or renter them before connecting. Check that Caps etc are not on. Most logins are case sensitive.

Fixx

• Click “Start”, point to “Connect To”, and then click your dial-up connection.
• Click “Properties”, and then click the “Options” tab.
• Click to clear the “Include Windows logon domain” check box (if it is selected), and then click OK.

Fix2:

• Click “Start”, point to “Connect To”, and then click your dial-up connection.
• In the “Connect” dialog box, click “Properties”.
• Click the “Security” tab.
• Under “Security options”, click “Allow unsecured password” in the “Validate my identity as follows” box, and then click “OK”.

Fix A;

Go to the Start menu.

Click on Run

Enter the following and click Ok (You can copy and paste from this page):

• Install Internet Explorer 6 or later
• For Windows ME and XP run a system restore
• Make sure your firewall has port 443 open to allow access to secure sites
• Windows NT, 2000, & XP update to latest service packs
• Restore Registry in Windows 98 & ME

There is another method in which we can lock the computer screen. It is to create a shortcut for locking the computer screen in Windows 7. You can create a shortcut for locking the computer screen in Windows 7, XP and Vista too. Follow these steps in order to create a shortcut for locking the computer screen in Windows 7 as well as other editions:

Right-click on the desktop where you would like to create the shortcut.

Point to New.

Click on Shortcut from the menu.

Type in this text in the shortcut textbox. (This text will work for Windows XP as well even though the screen will be different)

rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation

Click on the Next button.

Type in a name for your shortcut.

Click on the Finish button.

You have successfully created a shortcut to lock your workstation. Just click on the shortcut whenever you want to lock the computer screen.
